About Me

First of all, Ashworth isn't my real name. It's Bryan. But that's a different story.

In short, I'm a born-and-raised-Oregonian. Other than the few years my family lived in San Diego, the Beaverton/Portland area has been my home for as long as I can remember. You can read it in my clothes and my dreams of becoming a crafts(wo)man of make-believe in both books and on stages. I love art in each of its forms, and I am definitely willing to give up breakfast every day in the name of art. (Hence, this blog.)

Admittedly, I don't have the bangs anymore, but this is me.

I've been making up stories ever since I can remember. It took me more than a decade to realize that storytelling is what my soul has always longed and loved to do. Currently I'm studying at Central Washington University as a Pre-Major in the Theatre department. I'm hoping to achieve a BFA in Musical Theatre as well as minors in Creative Writing, Music, and Dance Performance. I have no doubt I'll be here for five more years, and maybe I'll have to take some summer courses, too, but I know it'll all be worth it. As long as I can continue to tell stories, I know things will work out fine.

Creative writing and musical theatre are my biggest passions. I'm just beginning to get a leg up on this whole author thing as marketing season for my debut novel is quickly crawling my way. I've already been cast in a couple of professional musical theatre productions (Seussical: the Musical and Les Miserables, both performed in Portland, 2013) and I have been on hiatus for a while due to my collegiate studies, but I will be hopping across the pond this late July to study at the prestigious West End.

So, perhaps this blog will become a travel journal in the summertime... Who knows!

In May 2012, I began collaborating with Elizabeth Englewood, my best friend and honorary sister. Our latest project is the upcoming A Royal Reborn, the beginning of a new-adult contemporary fantasy series. It's to be published in late 2015. You should visit us at www.ashworthenglewoodbooks.com.

My other hobbies are gaming (PC and PS3) (God, I wish I had a PS4), photography, and I quite love journaling, though I can be very protective of my personal thoughts. I love ice cream, (some) roller coasters, and adventures. I dream way too often, but that's okay.

This blog's primary purpose is currently unknown to me, but I am hoping I'll be able to use it to become part of an online writing community and as a means of advertising my projects. Drop a comment if you want to say hi! I'd love to meet you. :)
